Meet the Plone Community
Join us for an engaging evening of open-source discussions, networking, and regional hospitality!
Event Overview
We’ll kick things off with a series of short, insightful talks (5–10 minutes each), running for up to 90 minutes. Expect a mix of technical insights, community updates, and a touch of nostalgia.
Topics include:
- Introduction – Setting the stage for the evening.
- What is Plone? – A look at the CMS Plone, the concept of sprints, and the strong community behind it.
- Public stand-up – A recap of what we’ve worked on over the past two days and what’s next.
- Plone in action – Real-world applications, including insights from Uni Gießen.
- A journey through FOSS history – A nostalgic look back at the Infotag Freie Informationstechnologien 2003 at the University of Innsbruck, featuring WuV and LUGT.
- FOSS at Uni Innsbruck – Open-source projects in use and actively supported by the university.
A detailed schedule will be available at the event.
In a time when big tech corporations are trying to manipulate us and take control of information technologies, it is more important than ever to stand up for Free Software for Free Citizens.
As part of the Alpine City Sprint, an annual developer meeting that has been taking place in Innsbruck for nearly ten years, we are excited to present the Plone Community. They will share insights into their work and experiences in one of the longest-standing Open Source communities.
Stay for Drinks & Networking
After the talks, stick around for cold beverages (including beer and non-alcoholic options) and regional catering by Metzgerei Singer, Völs—vegetarian options included!
The event closes at 21:00.
We look forward to an inspiring evening of knowledge-sharing and community-building. See you there!
