Retrospective

From April 8th to 14th, 2024, the charming village of Völs, nestled in the sprawl of Innsbruck, Austria, played host to the "Tiny Shiny Alpine City Sprint." Organized by Klein & Partner KG, this intimate hackathon brought together Plone enthusiasts from both near and far, creating a collaborative atmosphere at our cozy office located at Kirchgasse 6.

Though small in size, with a limited in-person capacity of just 14 participants, the sprint buzzed with energy. We had a well-balanced group of 7 in-person attendees working alongside 6 remote contributors, seamlessly blending efforts to push Plone forward.

The focus of our work was diverse and impactful. We made significant strides in developing Plone on Kubernetes, creating a Helm chart based on existing stubs. This was a major milestone in making the deployment of Plone easier and more scalable. Plone’s documentation also received some well-deserved attention, with updates and improvements ensuring a better user and developer experience.

Additionally, we set the groundwork for the event content type PLIP (Plone Enhancement Proposal) which promises to make event management future proof within Plone. The "mxmake" tool also received some valuable enhancements, further refining its capabilities for the Plone community.

Despite its size, the Tiny Shiny Sprint proved that great things can come from focused, collaborative environments. Whether at the office in Völs or dialing in from remote locations, the Plone family once again demonstrated its strength in innovation and teamwork.

We look forward to the next opportunity to gather and continue building the future of Plone!
