Dear Plonistas!
Our motto is Strength.
The strength of Plone lies in its community. And the strength of our community lies in the connections we share.
Trust, respect, and tolerance are the cornerstones that have held our community together for decades. But our strength comes not only from the bonds between us, but also from the energy, passion, and commitment that each and every one of you brings to our community.
That’s why we’re inviting you to a very special place - a place to recharge, find peace, and reconnect with one another.
We warmly invite you to bring your families and partners along. This is a place where everyone feels welcome, with a particularly family-friendly atmosphere and plenty for children to enjoy.
Let’s recharge together, nurture our community, and strengthen the bonds that have made Plone what it is today.
We look forward to seeing you all!
Jens & Christine
Venue & Directions
A seminar and retreat house with its own hotel on the hillside above Matrei am Brenner, 16 km south of Innsbruck. We sprint in the seminar room "Serles" and sleep and eat in the house.
Getting there:
- The nearest station is Matrei am Brenner, 17 minutes from Innsbruck Hbf with the S-Bahn S3 (every 30 minutes).
From the station it is a 25 minute walk uphill, or take the Mühxi village bus (Mon–Fri 08:45, 12:20, 16:08, 17:23, stop "Bildungshaus St. Michael") or a taxi (Taxi Mair, +43 664 22 62 265, € 12).
Public transport between Innsbruck and the venue is free: register with St. Michael before you arrive (they send out the information) and you get an arrival voucher by e-mail (print it or keep the PDF on your phone, carry a photo ID) and a digital Wipptal guest card that is your ticket for the whole sprint, departure day included. - Nearest airport: Innsbruck (bus F to Innsbruck Hbf, then the S3, about 1 hour).
- Nearest international hub: Munich (S-Bahn S8 to München Ost, then a direct train to Innsbruck, about 2 ½ hours, then 17 minutes to Matrei).
- By car: A13 Brenner motorway, exit 19 Matrei/Steinach (Brenner toll € 12.50), winter tyres are compulsory.

Activities
Alongside working together on our Plone topics, there will be plenty of opportunities to spend time together, explore the surroundings, and enjoy some shared experiences.
After all, the Alpine City Sprint is about more than just working on Plone. It’s about strengthening the bonds within our community, sharing experiences, and creating memories together.
There are plenty of ways to do just that! We could head to Bergeralm for a tobogganing adventure — a place some of us may remember from a previous trip together.
Or we could spend an evening exploring Innsbruck’s famous Bögen district, the city’s vibrant nightlife quarter. Built in the 19th century, these impressive natural-stone railway arches originally served as accommodation for construction workers and as stables for oxen. Over the years, their purpose has changed considerably, and today they house everything from workshops and small businesses to pubs, bars, and nightclubs. It’s a unique place to experience a different side of Innsbruck.
We could also gather around a campfire, share stories, and enjoy a relaxed evening together under the stars — a chance to unwind and connect away from our screens and daily routines.
And for anyone interested, I’d be happy to lead a guided meditation session. I’m currently training to become a meditation teacher, and I’d love to share some of what I’m learning. It would be an opportunity to slow down, recharge, and find a little space for ourselves amid all the activity.
Whether we’re exploring the mountains, enjoying Innsbruck’s nightlife, sharing stories around a campfire, or taking a quiet moment to breathe, these experiences are all part of what makes a community strong.
Let’s make the Alpine City Sprint a time not only to build Plone, but also to strengthen the connections that make our community special.
